Team Valor's roster is once again full. We had a lot of tryouts come and go, but we settled on two. With this, we have 8(7) on the roster, and we are ready to go for the 11th season of Counter-Strike: Source Open. We did not get to play either preseason match, so were going to jump in game one cold and do work.
Our new members are:
Reckless
Saki
Saki, we are proud to say, will become Valor's first female member. She is a great addition to the team and we welcome her proudly.
Reckless is the third beast from Pennsylvania, hailing from Philadelphia. I'm sure he will show, stimmy and I, our home state proud.
So fans stay tuned to that Source TV, we like to play default time and date. You can always check the server monitor at the top... also make sure you idle #Team-Valor, the quick link is at the top, click and it will automatically set mIRC up and connect to #Team-Valor.
Good Luck To All Teams In CAL S11!
Recruiting 1-2 More
By
Krippler in New Member on Saturday 26 April @ 19:11
We lost a dear friend this week. Andrew "Descent" Schultz quit the team, because he said his school was affecting his playing time.
"I'm not into playing source anymore," said Descent. "I'm taking two summer classes and its just not gonna happen."
Well farewell good buddy, we will surely miss you and your dedication throughout this past year, and through s10 of open.
With this however, recruiting, as promised, has been reopened. We are looking for 1-2 16+ mature , dedicated, good players to fill his roll, and also possibly Nighthawk, who has taken a leave of absence as well. "Sorry i wont be around much guys just say I'm a back up for CAL, I'm really busy with RL," says nighthawk.
Join the site, make a post in the fans section, PM krippler or XChefX, or know us otherwise to get a tryout. Don't waste our time, we definitely will not waste yours.
CAL Registration -- April 28th!
By
Krippler in Clan Event on Sunday 20 April @ 12:37
The season starts on Monday, April 28th, 2008. Expectations for Valor are high this year, and we are hoping to advance to IM, or possibly M, after this season. Following the CAL season, we will be joining the CEVO-A league for their season 7. Stay tuned at the end of the season for more details on that, however.
Don't ask me about a starting lineup, I don't know. It is inconvenient to have 6 members, because one guy is always on the outside looking in... at least he will be with nighthawk, who has already announced that he will be a backup this season.
Recruiting is still closed, however, if one member drops from our roster we will recruit a replacement, but he or she will have to be up to Valor standards. We choose people we know first, and from #sourcetryout last.
Good luck to all teams heading in to season 11!
Offseason practice
By
Krippler in Clan Event on Friday 11 April @ 23:12
Our first real practice of this offseason will be MONDAY APRIL 14th, at 8:00EST. I have also added this to the calendar.
Things are WILL be back to normal from this point on. Be active on vent as much as you can, understood that we all have jobs and lives. Be there Monday. If you can't, LET ME KNOW AHEAD OF TIME.
Attendance to these practices as well as weekly performance will be how we will decide a starting lineup for CAL. Keep in mind that this lineup will be dynamic from week to week, so if you don't start one week, you have a chance at starting the next.
NOBODY has a permanent starting position. Not even me or X, if either of us isn't adapting to the map or we aren't feeling good, we have enough sense to put somebody else in our place.
Tryouts are CLOSED until further notice, keep checking back to the site to see if somebody has dropped from the roster, we will make a formal announcement in that case.
